Blessed Margaret of Castello Prayer Group

MONTHLY MEETING: Second Wednesday of each month, after the 12:30 PM Mass in the Lower Rectory Conference Room.

Handicapped/disabled persons along with their caregivers, as well as anyone else interested in learning more about Blessed Margaret is invited to attend. Recitation of the Rosary immediately after the 12:30 PM Mass. Sacramental Confession available before and after the Mass.

Blessed Margaret of Castello (1287-1320 A.D.), is patroness of the unwanted and handicapped. A severely handicapped person herself, she was abandoned by her parents as a child. She was cared for by various families of the city and later became a third-order Dominican. In 1558, 238 years after her death, it was discovered that her body was miraculously incorrupt.

About Our Parish

Mary Immaculate of Lourdes is Newton and Needham Massachusetts's oldest Roman Catholic Parish. Founded as Saint Mary's Parish in 1870 it was renamed "Mary Immaculate of Lourdes" when the new Church was dedicated on Thanksgiving Day, 1910. In addition to being a regular territorial parish of the Archdiocese of Boston it is also a "Mission Parish" since 2007 with a special apostolate for the Traditional Latin Mass (1962 Missal).
