During Christmastide we received a brief message from Fr. Desiré Salako, S.M.A. He sends us all his Christmas greetings from the Missions in Niger, with the added urgent prayer request for their safety, as the security situation is getting ever more dangerous. The picture of the Nativity scene is from one of the Catholic missions in Niger, which is an overwhelmingly Muslim country.

In an earlier message after All Saints Day, Fr. Salako had sent some pictures of the on-going construction of the chapel for the new S.M.A. Seminary in Benin. From these pictures we can see the progress. The stone altar is from a massif rock and made for some challenging engineering to get it inside. Thanks to your generous contributions to Fr. Salako’s summer Mission Appeals we have been able to contribute to this good work.
