On Thursday of this past week we celebrated the feast of St. James the Greater, "proto-martyr", that is, "first martyr", of the Twelve Apostles. The martyrdom of James, twelve years after the Ascension, marked the definitite going forth of the Apostles from Jerusalem out into the larger world in order to preach the Gospel, as Christ the Lord had commanded them in His “Great Commission”. Last Sunday’s preaching mission by Fr. Robert Byamukama on behalf of his diocese of Fort Portal, Uganda was a testament to the ongoing work of Christ’s Great Commission in our day. Here follows some pictures Rod Phillips took of the 10:30 Solemn High Latin Mass at last Sunday’s Mission Appeal.
