We are happy to welcome back Father Desiré Salako, Provincial Superior of the Society of African Mission for Benin/Niger, as our visiting assistant priest for the summer months of July and August. This is Father Salako’s 4th summer here at Mary Immaculate of Lourdes.

As the Father Provincial, Father Salako has had to travel a great deal this past year, visiting not only the S.M.A. missions within his province of the countries of Benin and Niger, but also the priests attached to his province who are assigned to missions throughout the continent of Africa. The pictures here show the mission at Sastown in Liberia.

Father Salako has also been overseeing the ongoing construction of their new seminary, which we have been able to contribute to through the support we have given to his annual mission appeals at the end of his summer stay. Here are some pictures of this new seminary. One the classroom is dedicated to Mary Immaculate of Lourdes, Newton (Salle M.I.O.L. Newton).
